Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS) is a highly effective treatment for chronic muscle pain and soft tissue injuries. Using fine needles (the same as acupuncture needles), IMS targets tight muscle bands that contribute to pain and dysfunction. Unlike traditional acupuncture, IMS focuses on physical signs rather than energy pathways.
Common conditions treated with IMS include headaches, back pain, tennis elbow, frozen shoulder, and muscle spasms. The needle insertion itself is usually painless, but when the needle reaches a supersensitive muscle, you may experience a brief cramp-like sensation, followed by muscle relaxation. Over time, the cumulative effects of IMS can help ease pain, improve muscle function, and promote healing.
