Sophie Provenzano

Registered Physiotherapist
MPT, BSc (Hons)

Sophie has treated clients of all ages with a variety of conditions including sports-related injuries, motor vehicle accidents, post-surgical recovery and return to sport following pregnancy.

Having undergone rehab for a few sports injuries of her own, she knows firsthand how frustrating setbacks from injuries can be. Sophie works with you as a team to help you move toward your goal, whether it be running your next marathon or picking up your grandchild. You can expect a mix of manual therapy techniques and exercise as part of your treatment; Sophie loves finding ways to break down exercises to make them easily accessible and practicable for clients. Sophie is also fluent in Japanese.

Sophie’s career in healthcare started when she worked as an emergency first aid attendant for kids at an outdoor education school in the East Kootenay. She then spent several years in clinical and wet-lab settings getting research experience under her belt. Seeing the impact that physiotherapy can have on people’s lives during her time as a research assistant in BC Children’s Hospital’s orthopedic department sparked her passion for health and rehabilitation through movement. After finishing her honours BSc in anatomy and physiology at UBC, she continued there to complete her Master of Physical Therapy and began her practice as a physiotherapist.

When not in clinic, Sophie enjoys getting outside through running, backpacking, playing volleyball, swimming, or climbing. She has been a rock climbing instructor for the past two years.

Sophie is fortunate to call many beautiful places home, including Fukuoka (Japan), where she grew up, the East Kootenay, where she spent many summers working and playing, and now Vancouver.
